Vue.js Developer

About the Role

The phrase "it works on my machine" makes you wince, which is exactly why you'd make a great Vue.js Developer here in Montgomery. With 7 years of experience under your belt, you'll step into a remote position paying $88,000 - $130,000 where ownership and momentum matter.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the AWS incident postmortem that stops the Montgomery outage from recurring
• Own the full lifecycle of technology systems from prototype to production
• Drive adoption of best practices in testing, security, and observability
• Support migration of on-premise services to cloud-native architecture
• Untangle the AWS dependency knots that have slowed Montgomery releases for months
• Architect fault-tolerant distributed systems leveraging Unit Testing and GitHub Actions
• Keep Public Affairs Institute's Analytical Thinking dependencies patched before the CVEs become incidents
• Containerize applications and manage deployments with GitHub Actions and Express.js

What You'll Bring

• Working knowledge of Kubernetes alongside transferable Unit Testing chops
• An AL work history, or strong reasons you'll thrive here anyway
• Demonstrated capacity to mentor or support senior teammates
• Solid Elasticsearch grounding, plus Express.js you can pick up on the fly
• Strong working knowledge of Docker and GitHub Actions
• A growth mindset and openness to constructive feedback
• The kind of attention to detail that catches what spell-check misses

Public Affairs Institute is a calmly-fast-moving Montgomery, AL firm where Elasticsearch isn't a department but the entire reason the lights stay on. A remote role with us means real responsibility, real trust, and real support behind you.

The number is $88,000 - $130,000; the rest is mentorship, health coverage, paid growth time, and a remote arrangement that respects your evenings.

Hot off the queue today, Public Affairs Institute wants to hear from you this week.
